Following a diet based on your blood type will help you store less fat in your body and have a better digestion. This also has the potential to prevent certain diseases.
Based on various blood types is the following diet largely agreed upon by nutritionists and health experts from the world over.

1. For type O blood

For O blood type, the diet should should include higher doses of protein. Poultry, fish, lean meat, vegetables, nuts, beans, grains and dairy products. People with O blood type are more prone to stomach related issues. The diet recommends that people with type O blood should avoid pork (including ham and bacon), lentils, wheat, pickled herring, catfish, smoked salmon, coconut, eggplant, oranges, melons, potatoes and corn.

2. For type A blood

People with A blood group usually have a sensitive immune system and are lactose intolerant. Hence, it is recommended to avoid meat based foods and focus more on vegetarian diet. They should drink lots of herbal teas and water, eat fresh fruits, vegetables, soy, tofu, peanuts, olive oil, legumes, beans and whole grains. This blood group diet should be free from meat, papaya, coconut, banana, cashews and beer.

3. For type B blood

Largely, type B blood people have poor metabolism. But, they have a strong immune system to fight against diseases. They should drink green tea, water and natural fruit juice. This blood group should follow a diet full of green vegetables, eggs, low-fat dairy and higher doses of protein. People who have B blood group should avoid eating corns, lentils, tomatoes, buckwheat, peanuts and sesame seeds.

4. For type AB blood

People with AB blood group tend to have low stomach acid and have a fragile digestive system. They should drink water, coffee and green tea. This is the blood group that should focus on eating tofu, green vegetables, seafood, fish, dairy products and grains and legumes. They should avoid caffeine, corn, kidney beans, buckwheat, seeds, smoking, alcohol and cured meats.
